The Australian designed and manufactured Sheedy 1000 Bearing needs no lubrication and yet will operate reliably, wet or dry, in extreme conditions.
These "stainless steel bearings" have a plastic compound called Fechnerplas 20 (F20) between their bearing surfaces. F20 has a remarkable temperature range of from -204C to +316C and because it needs no lubrication, makes the Sheedy Bearing an ideal replacement for conventional bearings in ovens, freezers, pumps, air conditioning, boilers, conveyors and metal processing. Being contaminant-free, it also has widespread use in the printing and food industries.
As F20 will not weld to metal, the bearing cannot seize, and because it is manufactured from high grade stainless steel which has been hardened and surface treated, the bearing has a very high corrosion resistance.
According to inventor Noel Sheedy, his 1000 bearing will interchange with all conventional bearings from self aligning to radial and with cam followers and rollers as well. These bearings are specifically designed and made in Australia to meet any requirements and are covered by Australian and world patents.
The high performance stainless steel bearings can provides not only with the cleanliness and corrosion resistance characteristic also with the high accuracy and excellent wear resistance compare to the high carbon chrome steel nsk bearings. The rings and balls are made of the material as a standard structure of stainless steel bearing, The rings and balls are made of the material of AISI440C( 9Cr18Mo or 9Cr18), the cage and the framework of seal adoption the AI304 or AI316, production accuracy could reach ISO standard ABEC-1 and above, and the vibration level reach Z1 grade and above.
SRG Bearings (Corrosion Resistant Ball Bearings) are Daiwa’s specially treated, sealed, stainless steel and are advertised to last up to 12 times longer than standard stainless steel bearings, especially beneficial in corrosive saltwater environment.
The small ntn bearings in fishing reels serve the same purpose in baitcasting or spinning reels as they do in any other mechanical device - reduction of friction between moving parts. So they fall into the classification of "anti-friction bearings". Without them life would be far more difficult. Any time two objects come in contact while moving across one another friction is generated and the resulting force is resistance against the motion. Motion is slowed or stopped all together.
